Sony Ericsson P1 3G SmartPhone Review

The Sony Ericsson P1 is a 3G Smartphone which provides it’s user with full office applications on their mobile handset. The user can view & edit documents on the move & have their business with them at all time. The P1 comes in a silver & black coloured casing which weighs a total of 124 grams which is a good weight for a 3G Smartphone with high capabilities. The handset is slim & easy to operate with an overall size of 17mm deep by 55mm wide & 106mm long. The Smartphone comes with an impressive large touchscreen which comes complete with a stylus. The stylus fits neatly into the side of the phones casing which is ready & waiting to be used. The user can navigate their way through menus easily by touching icons & menu options on the screen. The screen displays up to 262,000 colours on a high resolution screen. The keypad is neat & compact which is positioned below the large colour touchscreen. The phone comes with Symbian™ operating system which is an operating system designed for mobile devices. The P1 comes with a handwriting recognition feature which allows the user to simply us the stylus to write a character & the handwriting recognition feature will transform it to the appropriate character from a keyboard. The 3G Smartphone comes with document readers & editors which allows the user to use their mobile device like a mobile office. The Sony Ericsson P1 is in hot competition with other 3G Smartphone which include the Nokia N95, Samsung i600 & the Apple iPhone.

The P1 comes with a built in camera feature which is a 3.2 megapixel camera complete with focusing feature. The camera comes with a 3 x digital zoom, auto focus feature & a photo light for duller environments. The Sony Ericsson P1 can be used to capture, edit, store & share still photos. The 3.2 megapixel camera provides the user with direct interaction with the phones messaging features & services. The user can capture moving video with the camera feature which provides a real feel to any recording. The user can record, store, share & stream video footage on their P1. The Sony Ericsson P1 comes with a second built in camera which is used when the user is using the 3G video calling feature. The user can take part in a face to face 3G video call & enjoy talking to their 3G videoing contacts in real time. The video call allows the user to see a live video stream of their 3G video calling compatible contact which includes the contacts surrounding & environment.

The user will never be short of entertainment as the P1 comes with embedded 3D games, a media player & a built in FM radio feature. The user can enjoy a fast moving game experience & download more games to suit their gaming preference. The media player can play popular music & video formats & provides the user with entertainment on the go. The user can tune into their preferred radio station & catch up with the latest news, weather reports, traffic updates & enjoy the favourite music stations. The 3G Smartphone supports Bluetooth™ stereo A2DP which allows the user to enjoy a wireless experience. The built in music features include a music recognition feature known as TrackID™, a ringtone composer known as MegaBass™ & a PlayNow™ music feature which provides a fast & easy music download service.

The user will find it easy to stay in contacts & communicate with business contacts, friends & family with a large selection of messaging services to choose from, which include text messaging, multimedia messaging & email. The user can send & receive emails directly to their Sony Ericsson P1 & enjoy a full email service which is the same as their home or office email service apart from this service is mobile. The text message service allows the user to create, send, forward & receive SMS text messages to any SMS compatible contact. The multimedia message service allows the user to share photos & video clips with any MMS compatible mobile phone contacts. The P1 comes with a mobile Internet service which lets the user manage their email account & browse the Internet wherever the user may be. The 3G Smartphone comes with an Opera™ Web browser with RSS feed feature which allows the user to subscribe to a selection of websites to gain all the latest information sent straight to their Sony Ericsson P1. The phone comes with a business card scanner which allows the user to take a photo of a business card which can then be scanned by the business card reader for text, & then the user can save the text from the business card as a contact in the phone book. The user can turn their phone to flight mode when in restricted mobile phone areas such as hospitals & planes which will disable the call functions of the P1 & allows the user to use other built in features on their mobile device.

The 3G Smartphone comes with 160 Mbytes of internal memory plus the user can expand their phones memory by inserting an additional Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) memory card. The Sony Ericsson P1 comes complete with a 512MB Memory Stick Micro™ M2™ card, a desk stand, a portable handsfree, a spare stylus, USB cable & PC software. The 3G capabilities of the Sony Ericsson P1 give the user the speed they need from their Smartphone. The user can access broadband Internet, take part in video calls & stream video quickly & easily. The user can use an infra red, WLAN, USB or Bluetooth™ connection to connect their 3G Smartphone to compatible devices to transfer files or download information. The Bluetooth™ connection can be used with any Bluetooth™ compatible devices & provides the user with a wireless connection between the two devices. The phone works over GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900 with UMTS 2100 which is a tri band technology Smartphone which will switch between bands automatically.
