Nokia 8800 Review

The Nokia 8800 is a very luxurious & tactile mobile phone that comes in a beautiful silver stainless steel covered casing. The handset is slim & attractive & comes with a smooth slide opening mechanism. The slide opening mechanism reveals a gorgeous engraved keypad on the front & at the back of the handset the camera feature can be revealed. The handset weighs 134 grams & measures 107 x 45 x 15.0 to 16.5 mm depending if the handset is in the open or closed position. The phone comes with 64 Mbytes of NAND flash memory which allows the user to store all the information they desire.

The phone comes with a clear TFT 256k colour screen which provides a 208 x 208 pixel screen resolution. The screen is always on display even when the phone is in the closed position & the screen has a scratch resistant protection to prevent & damage occurring. The Nokia 8800 comes with a highly useable SVGA 0.5 megapixel camera which allows the user to take snaps with ease when & where ever they may be. The user can record their memories with the video recorder & enjoy using the video player to play back the footage over & over again.

The Nokia 8800 comes complete with a digital music player & an integrated FM radio so the user will never be short of entertainment & their favourite music by their favourite artist or bands. The user can download or use the pre installed ringtones which come in polyphonic, MIDI, MP3 & ACC formats. The phone comes with ringtones created by the famous composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The phone comes with a handsfree speaker which allows the user to have a conversation without having to hold the handset as the conversation can take place over the speakers. The 8800 comes with useful voice features which makes using the phone that much easier. The phone has a very useable phone book & calendar which allows the user to enter details very easily. The Nokia 8800 has a built in alarm clock complete with a snooze facility so that the user will never be late for a date or appointment again.

The 8800 comes with Bluetooth® technology which provides the user with a wireless connection to any Bluetooth® compatible device. The built in Edge technology provides the speed & reliability that the user desires. The phone comes with tri band technology which allows the user to enjoy GSM coverage on up to five continents & the Nokia 8800 will switch between network bands automatically & with ease.

The user can keep in contact with friends & family with the use of the integrated messaging service. The messaging services include text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), email & instant messaging. The instant messaging allows the user to have a text input conversation with others that are connected at the same time as the user. The multimedia messaging allows the user to send text, photo & sound to any MMS compatible mobile phone which can be sent to more than one contact at a time. The email service supports SMTP, POP3 & IMAP4 email formats & provides the user with a great method of communication from a mobile phone.
