Nokia 3109 Classic Review

The 3109 Classic is a simple looking handset which allows the user to communicate easily with others. The phone is neat, compact & comes with the all the essential features a mobile phone user could desire. The Nokia 3109 Classic is a simple candy bar style mobile phone which comes with easy to use & reliable phone features. The phone weighs eighty nine grams including the fitted battery which allows the user to carry their new phone without feeling weighed down. The handset is compact which only measures 108.5mm by 45.7mm by 15.6mm which feels good to hold & operate in a single hand. The screen is clear & bright which has a 1.8 Inch colour display with a screen resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The screen is ideal for displaying the user’s colourful animated wallpapers & media video clips. The Nokia 3109 Classic comes with a large keypad complete with soft keys which can be set by the user for ease of use & quick access to the user’s favourite features. The user can control the volume using the well positioned side volume keys. The 3109 Classic is a member of the Classic range designed by Nokia which include other Classic style mobile handset including the Nokia 6120 Classic & the Nokia 6500 Classic.

The main feature of the Nokia 3109 classic is the built in media player which allows the user to enjoy video & music playback on their mobile phone whenever the mood takes them. The media player supports all popular music & video formats including MP3, MIDI, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WMA music formats & MP4, H263, H264 video formats. The user can play moving video footage which has been sent to them or downloaded onto their 3109 Classic. The user can stream video in 3GPP format & the phone supports Flash Lite 2.0 for viewing Adobe Flash™ animations & video on the handset. The user can download all their favourite CD’s & music files which can be enjoyed on their new mobile phone. The phone supports a selection of ringing tones including MP3, MIDI, true tones & polyphonic ringing tones.

The user can access the Web using the built in XHTML Web browser to gain information & services on the go. The Web access provides the user with the freedom to access Web sites whenever the user needs to gain information instantly. The user can use the mobile email service to send & receive emails from their Nokia 3109 Classic. The email service supports email attachments which allow the user to share files using their email service. The 3109 Classic comes with a MMS multimedia messaging service which provides the user with a messaging service which is more than a text only service as the user can send & receive images & video clips as a message. The user can use the audio messaging service to send & receive audio messages. The 3109 Classic comes with an instant messaging service which allows the user to enjoy an online messaging service with other compatible instant messaging users. The instant messaging service is exactly want the name suggests an instant messaging service which allows the user to communicate with other who are online at the same time as the user. The SMS service is a text message service which allows the user to communicate with all mobile phone users using text & symbols as input.

The phone comes with a handsfree speaker phone feature which allows the user to take a call over the phones loud speakers which means the user can leave their handset resting on their desk whilst enjoying a call over the speaker system. The handsfree call is a great way to communicate when the user is busy or is finding it hard to hold their handset to their ear during long calls. The Nokia 3109 Classic supports push to talk which is a walkie talkie type call feature which allows the user to talk to others whilst holding down the push to talk key, but on releasing the key the user can hear their contact talking back. The phone comes with a user guide to help get the user started, a nosier battery & a compact charger. The user can access the demo mode on their new handset without having a SIM card installed. The phone has an offline mode which switches off all the phones transmitted related features & activities. The offline mode allows the user to access a selection of features on their phone when in restricted mobile phone areas such as in a hospitals or onboard a plane. The user can keep them self organised with a built in organiser complete with a calendar. The user can store all their contacts details & numbers in the phone book feature which is accessible from the main menu. The phone comes with a to do list features & a notes section which is ideal for those little reminders. The user can keep track of time easily as the 3109 Classic comes with a clock feature as well as an alarm clock & a countdown timer.

The Nokia 3109 Classic comes with 32 Mbytes of internal Flash memory & with 16 Mbytes of RAM. The user can expand the phones memory further by adding a MicroSD™ type memory card which is a small memory card which can be inserted & removed easily. The user can connect their phone to other devices using either a mini USB cable, infra red connection or Bluetooth® wireless connectivity. The mini USB connection requires a wired connection whereas the infra red & Bluetooth® connection do not require a wire. The Bluetooth® connection allows the user to gain a connection with other Bluetooth® compatible devices which are up to ten metres apart from the Nokia 3109 Classic. The phone supports EDGE technology which provides the user with high speed data transfers which are up to three times faster than GPRS. The battery provides up to 4 hours talk time & approximately 400 hours of standby time which is ideal from the user on the move. The phone covers GSM 900, 1800 & 1900 which is a tri band technology mobile phone & allows the user to enjoy coverage in Europe & the majority of the US which is fully dependant on the user network provider.
