The BlackBerry Pearl™ 8100 is the smallest BlackBerry Smartphone to hit the market & what a stir it has caused. The Pearl™ 8100 comes in a neat package which really catches the users eye. The handset measures 107 x 50 x 14.5 mm which is small for a BlackBerry Smartphone with all its BlackBerry capabilities. The handset is light to hold which weighs 89.5 grams & feels good to operate in a single hand. The phone comes with all the usual Smartphone capabilities which include high quality phone, Internet browser, email service, messaging services including instant messaging & so much more. The phone comes with a large high resolution screen which is light sensitive & can adjust to suit different lighting levels. The screen can be viewed clearly in either indoor or outdoor environments & provides up to 65k colours for the user to enjoy a colourful viewing experience. The SureType® keyboard technology provides the user with a QWERTY style keyboard as the numeric keypad comes with extra keys either side of it. The navigation key is smooth & allows the user to make selection from the menu system easily. The handset is mainly focused on the large bright & magnificent screen but the highly polished edges of the handset give the BlackBerry Pearl™ 8100 a distinctive & glamorous look.

The phone comes with an Internet browser which is an HTML Internet browser & allows the user to view Web sites in HTML format. The user can browse the Internet like they would do from their office or home computer. The BlackBerry Pearl™ 8100 comes with an embedded RIM® wireless modem. The phone comes with quad band network connectivity which allows the user to use their mobile phone in many countries including Europe, North America & Asia. The user can store their data on the phones 64 Mbytes of internal Flash memory or expand the phones memory by adding a MicroSD™ memory card. The fitted battery will provide the user with up to 360 hours of standby time & up to three & a half hours worth of talk time from a fully charged battery. The user can connect their Pearl™ 8100 to other devices using either a Bluetooth® connection or USB cable connection. The user can connect their phone to any Bluetooth® compatible device & enjoy a wirefree connection between the two devices. The BlackBerry Pearl™ 8100 comes with GPRS & Edge technology which provides the user with fast data transfers & downloads to their mobile handset. The BlackBerry Pearl™ 8100 is a mobile office which will let the user feel they have their office in their pocket.

The built in camera is a 1.3 megapixel camera which comes with a flash & zoom option to ensure a great shot it gained every time the user takes a photograph. The camera feature is easy to use with its dedicated zoom & camera capture keys. The camera lens in situated on the back of the phones casing & the user can use the camera in the horizontal position. The user can take self portraits by using the small mirror which is situated next to the camera lens. The large screen works as a viewfinder for the camera feature & will show the user what their photograph will look like before the user presses the capture key. The screen can display bright & clear wallpapers & screensavers which can be made a photograph or image which gives the phone its own personality. The phone comes with a handsfree speaker phone which allows the user to take a call over the phones speaker system therefore the user can enjoy & handsfree call. The user can use voice dialling to make calls which is a quick & simply way to make a call without having to scroll down phone lists & contacts lists to find a contacts number. The Pearl™ 8100 can play ringtones in MIDI, MP3 & polyphonic sound which can all be heard loud & clearly by the user.

The phone comes with all the messaging facilities that the user could ever desire from their BlackBerry mobile handset. The user can send & receive text messages, multimedia messages, instant messages & emails on their mobile phone. The messages services are easy to access from the phones main menu & are easy to create & manage. The BlackBerry Pearl™ 8100 is truly a mobile office device which allows the user to be communicate with others at all times. The phone comes with a document viewer which can read files in either Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF format.
